Jim Clancy’s career encompasses over 25 years in leadership and operating roles with companies ranging from startups and emerging growth to middle market companies, including turn-around situations. Joining the firm in 1999, Mr. Clancy brought his extensive operations experience to its Merger & Acquisitions and Strategy Advisory practices. In prior years, as head of Octant Management Consulting, Mr. Clancy advised senior management of leading industrial companies.
A recognized expert on manufacturing performance, and supply chain and operational improvements, Mr. Clancy has been a sought after advisor by some of the leaders in the manufacturing and technology sectors, including TRW, Levi Strauss and Ford Motor Company.
As the President and CEO of a venture-backed company developing real-time software for performance management, Mr. Clancy led a team that was instrumental in driving significant improvements in operations and increasing productivity and profitability for dozens of growing companies. Under Mr. Clancy’s leadership, the company developed and deployed leading-edge Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems for process and discrete manufacturers.
Jim launched his career at General Electric’s Power Systems Business, where he graduated the renowned GE Edison Engineering Program and was recognized with one of the company’s top honors – Young Engineer of the Year Award. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell and an MS from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
