John Floegel has spent the past fifteen years in deal-making and advisory capacities spanning a broad array of investment structures. As a managing director of corporate finance and co-head of the energy sector team at The Seaport Group, John originated, structured, negotiated and closed significant corporate finance transactions. Prior to Seaport, he founded and continues to serve as President and Chief Investment Officer of Fishcreek Capital, an investment fund.
As a partner and the head of the capital structure investment group at Promethean Investment Group, a multi-strategy investment management firm, John negotiated and closed numerous high-profile, as well as smaller merger & acquisition transactions, successfully restructured difficult investments in down market scenarios and participated in complex workout situations.
As a corporate attorney with Richards & O’Neil (now, Bingham McCutcheon LLP) and with O’Sullivan Graev & Karabell LLP, one of the then preeminent law firms focusing on private equity and venture capital (now, O’Melveny & Myers), John was actively involved in acquisitions and divestitures, debt restructurings, public and private offerings, and venture capital financing.
Having previously served as both attorney and asset manager, John regularly provides clients with insightful advice on structuring and negotiating transactions. From his years of experience as an executive and a board member for a number of successful growth companies, John brings a unique perspective to all his client engagements.
John has written extensively on equity finance and other corporate matters. He received his B.A. from Georgetown University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
